'THE ACCOUNTANT'
Rated R for strong violence and language throughout.
What it's about: An autistic accountant who cooks the books for the most dangerous criminals in the world.
The kid attractor factor: Stars Ben Affleck and Anna Kendrick
Good lessons/bad lessons: Family is everything, embrace those who are different and think differently _ just because they aren't like you doesn't make them lesser.
Violence: This movie deals with assassins and hit jobs and billion dollar crimes _ there's a lot of violence. Point blank executions, hand to hand fistfights, car crashes, explosives. Small children battle a martial arts master.
Language: A significant amount of strong language and swearing.
Sexuality: Almost none, just a brief almost-kiss moment between characters.
Drugs: None
Parents advisory: The issue in this action-financial thriller is the extreme violence, which is presented as a necessary part of this line of work and a means to an end. Not much importance placed on the number of people killed in the film. Would be OK for older teens.
