'RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET'
Rated PG for some action and rude humor.
What it's about: The sequel to "Wreck-It Ralph," this time, Ralph and Vanellope explore the internet and learn to have a healthy friendship.
The kid attractor factor: the animated characters and broad humor.
Good lessons/bad lessons: It's important to have good boundaries in friendships, and codependence can make things fail. Be confident in yourself and people will want to be around you.
Violence: Some scaryish chase scenes with a giant King Kong monster made up of tons of needy Ralphs. Some wild car chase video game scenes, both in the cutesy "Sugar Rush" game, and in the more adult version, "Slaughter Race."
Language: None, just some more adult humor, whether that's jokes about pop-up ads, or body humor.
Sexuality: None.
Drugs: None.
Parents advisory: Fun for the whole family, appropriate for kids of all ages. Maybe too intense for the youngest kids, and some jokes won't land with kid audiences.
'ROBIN HOOD'
Rated PG-13 for extended sequences of violence and action, and some suggestive references.
What it's about: Yet another version of the medieval hero who steals from the rich and gives to the poor, this time starring Taron Egerton.
The kid attractor factor: The action genre and hunky star will draw teen audiences.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Do what's right, even if it's hard, have empathy for others, redistribute the wealth.
Violence: Brutal battle scenes during the Crusades and during the fight for freedom against the sheriff. Sword fighting, limb chopping, punching, explosions, bows and arrows. Lots of action.
Language: None.
Sexuality: Some sensual kissing scenes with Robin and Marian, a sexy wild party.
Drugs: None.
Parents advisory: Too violent for little kids but OK for teens.
