'GHOSTBUSTERS'
Rated PG-13 for supernatural action and some crude humor.
What it's about: A reboot of the 1984 classic, this time featuring women as the New York City foursome who battle ghosts.
The kid attractor factor: The action-comedy genre, the goofy-spooky special effects, stars Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig
Good lessons/bad lessons: The most important lessons are about friendship, sticking together as a group, and sticking by your beliefs and doing the right thing.
Violence: Among all the ghostly hauntings and various ghost-busting weaponry, there is a fair amount of CG-enhanced violence, shooting, falls, exploding ectoplasm, etc.
Language: Nothing too bad.
Sexuality: Chris Hemsworth plays the gals' sexy, stupid secretary.
Drugs: None.
Parents advisory: Definitely a fun, funny time at the movies for older kids and teens new to the franchise, and parents who already love it. The ghosts and action make it too scary for younger kids though.
