What it's about: A dog finds himself during some harrowing experiences as a sled dog in Alaska during the Gold Rush, based on the Jack London novel.
The kid attractor factor: The furry star, who is entirely CGI.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Dogs rule, humans drool.
Violence: Some scary and perilous moments, especially during a few sled chase scenes, and some disturbing scenes of humans beating and torturing dogs. Also some shooting, fighting, and explosions, killing, etc.
Language: Mild, old-fashioned strong language.

Drugs: Ford's character hits the bottle pretty hard.
Parents' advisory: This is a fun family adventure film, but please be forewarned that there is some violence and death within the film as well as other mature themes and some scary imagery.

What it's about: A crisp adaptation of the Jane Austen novel about a meddling matchmaker in Regency England.
The kid attractor factor: Teen girls may be drawn to the pastel wonders of this romantic comedy of manners.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Accept people for who they are. Being snobby isn't a good look on anyone.

Language: None.
Sex: A few bare bums (men and women).
Drugs: None.
Parents' advisory: This frothy and funny delight is appropriate for any ages who appreciate a good comedy of manners about the ancient aristocracy.
