'HOBBS & SHAW'
Rated PG-13 for prolonged sequences of action and violence, suggestive material and some strong language.
What it's about: This "Fast & Furious" spinoff follows two favorite characters, Hobbs and Shaw, on a journey of their own to save the world.
The kid attractor factor: Teens will definitely be drawn to this action flick.
Good lessons/bad lessons: It's all about family, never forget. People come before machines.
Violence: A lot of extreme violence: car crashes, shooting, fighting, explosions, car chases, etc.
Language: Some swearing throughout.
Sexuality: References to flirting, etc.
Drugs: None.
Parents advisory: This is a wild, revved-up action flick. OK for teens but too violent for small kids.
'THE NIGHTINGALE'
Rated R for strong violent and disturbing content including rape, language throughout, and brief sexuality.
What it's about: A brutal rape revenge tale in 1825 Tasmania.
The kid attractor factor: Not much, this is an adult drama.
Good lessons/bad lessons: Fight for yourself, your freedom, your family.
Violence: Extreme, blunt and brutal violence. Several sexual assault and rape scenes, murder, torture, dismemberment, presented in bloody realism.
Language: Some swearing throughout.
Sexuality: Aside from the rapes, there is one brief but graphic scene of consensual sex. Nudity and crude references to sex as well.
Drugs: None
Parents advisory: This is a film that presents the violent reality and horror of colonization bluntly. Not appropriate for children at all.
