Family-friendly flower show coming to Glasgow's south side

There's a family-friendly flower show coming to Glasgow's south side this summer.

Queen's Park Flower Show is coming to the city on June 1 and it's set to be blooming lovely.

It's the first community-focused horticultural event with a spotlight on amateur gardening to come to the area and looks to bring local people with a shared interest together.

As well as live entertainment over the weekend, this event will have many fantastic activities such as displays of the best houseplants, floral photography and flower arranging.

Visitors can meet specialist market traders selling plants, flowers, crafts and gardening tools at the flower market. There will also be a variety of educational workshops and information on planting and indoor growing.

This event looks to actively encourage and champion the use of green spaces within urban areas to members of the public, support further education in areas of sustainability and encourage environmental responsibility through practical and thought-provoking activities.

Queen's Park Flower Show is anticipated to be a unique annual event for grassroots and established organisations to participate in.

It takes place in Queen's Park Langside Road from 12pm - 5pm on June 1.
