It’s been one year since a contestant on game show Family FeudCanada’s version of Family Fortunes – went viral after confidently giving a wrong answer to a high-stakes question.

The moment, which was hailed as “iconic” on Twitter, saw a family come crashing out of the chance to win big money in a moment that incited gasps from the audience.

“Real simple,” host Gerry Dee said as a representative from each family arrived at the podium.

”There’s one question – only one answer. Whoever gets it, they’re playing for $10,000, that’s it. Whoever gets it wins the game.”

He then asked the winning question: “Name Popeye’s favourite food.”

Before he had time to finish the question, though, contestant Eve Dubois buzzed in and, while confidently dancing, answered: “Chicken.”

As an agonised Dee hunches over the podium, members of Dubois’ family can be seen raising their hands to their heads in disbelief.

The question is thrown over to the competing team who correctly guess “spinach”.

Dubois looks on in shock and can be heard telling Dee “I thought you meant Popeye’s Chicken”, referencing the fast-food chain.

“This might be the worst question in Family Feud (Canada or otherwise) history... one answer,” one tweeter wrote, with another adding: “This might’ve been one of the best moments in game show history.”

One viewer added: “I tuned in to Canada’s new version of Family Feud and may have witnessed one of the most iconic game show moments I’ve ever seen.”
