Family fears for missing Stevenston man who hasn't been heard from for three months

Police are appealing for help to trace a missing Stevenston man who lost contact with his family three months ago.

William Murphy, 51, was reported missing by his family on December 8.

They have not heard from him since September although there been an unconfirmed sighting of William on December 5 within the Kilwinning/ Three Towns area.

William is white and around 5ft 10ins tall. It is unknown what he is wearing at this time.

Sergeant Love of Saltcoats Police Office said: “Although it is not unusual for family and friends to not hear from William for long periods, as time passes his loved ones are becoming increasingly concerned for him.”

“Enquires are ongoing in a bid to trace William and I would ask anyone with information, or who has seen William since this time, to contact us.”

“I would also want to issue a personal request to William to attend at a local police station or to contact one of his friends or family so that we can ensure he is safe and well."

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1608 of 8th December 2019.
