Family appeal to solve 10-year missing woman case

It's been 10 years since vanished after last being seen walking toward a beach near Bristol.

On the anniversary of her disappearance, her family has issued a new appeal for information and urged anyone who knows anything to contact police .

Selina was 35 when she went missing from Portishead on December 4 in 2009.

After leaving her home in Phoenix Way, she was last seen on CCTV in the High Street walking towards Portishead Beach.

Her mobile phone, purse and medication were discovered at the beach near the Royal Hotel the following afternoon on December 5.

Despite the coastguard being deployed and an extensive land and sea search, no other items or Selina were found.

Selina is 5ft 10ins tall and was described as being of slim build with dark brown, shoulder-length hair at the time of her disappearance.

She was wearing a brown leather jacket, blue jeans, grey suede boots, carrying a brown handbag and scarf.

It is also believed she was wearing a gold wedding ring and four or five silver bracelets.

Selina’s family say they are are desperate for answers and have urged anyone with information to come forward.

How does a missing person investigation work?

Sister Becky Lewin, who is now a community ambassador for the Missing People charity in Bristol, said: "We are appealing for anyone who may have seen or spoken with Selina between Friday, December 4 and Saturday morning, December 5 in Portishead in 2009.

Missing People publicity coordinator Ian Roullier said: “Selina, if you are reading this, please call or text us on our free phone number, 116 000.

"It’s confidential and we can’t trace your call. We just want to provide you with the support you need and help you to be safe.

"The helpline is here to support people who are missing or thinking of going missing and their loved ones who are left behind.”

If anyone has seen Selina, they should contact Missing People anonymously by calling 116 000 or by emailing  116000@missingpeople.org.uk  or call the police on 101.
