The family of Aamir Siddiqi, who was fatally stabbed earlier this year in Roath, have appealed to the public to help the police with their investigation.
Earlier today the police appealed for information on Mohammed Ali Ege, 32, from Riverside, who is wanted on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
Aamir's sister, Nishat Siddiqi, read a statement from Aamir's family at Cardiff Central Police Station today. She said:
It has been four months since our dearest Aamir left us. As everyone understands, this has been an enormously difficult time for us as a family. We thank God Almighty for the strength and patience He has given us for enduring this terrible assault on Aamir and our loss.
We've had tremendous support from our friends, all the members of the Cardiff community and above all from the police who have worked tirelessly over these months. We thank them all for their kindness, hard work and dedication. May God bless them.
We remain concerned that everyone involved in this crime must be caught and brought to justice. To that end a lot of work has already been down and much has yet to be done.
An important element of the ongoing investigation is the assistance which can be provided by our community to the police. It will be of tremendous value if we can trace the suspect, Mohammed Ali Ege, who is required by the police for their investigation. If you have any piece of information about him, please pass it onto the police without delay.
For the sake of justice and to maintain peace and security in our society, the perpetrators involved in this crime must be brought to justice as soon as possible. May God bless us all.
Anyone with infortmation is asked to contact the major crime incident room at Cardiff Central Police Station on 02920 527 303 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. For immediate sightings please dial 999.
