An East Kilbride family have made a desperate plea for witnesses after a blind pensioner was robbed in her own home.
Appealing for dashcam footage, the son and daughter of the 74-year-old woman say their mother was the victim of two conmen who stole £1000 from her home yesterday.
Lanarkshire Live understands the incident took place in Livingstone Drive in the Murray area of the town.
It is believed the men were offering gardening work in the area.
Her son told Lanarkshire Live : "I'm looking for anyone with a dashcam who drove down Livingstone Drive in the Murray in East Kilbride on Thursday, October 21.
"My legally blind pensioner mother was the victim of two conmen who stole a little over £1000 from her.
"They started the job then asked for some cash to buy what was needed for the job.
"She gave the first man some money who then distracted her while the second man went into her house and stole the rest of the cash.
"My hope is that someone with a dashcam drove down Livingstone Drive at some point today (Thursday).
"We are looking for any footage you might have, really we are looking for the registration plate of a long wheelbase white transit van.
"They were back and forth in the morning but were there from 2-4pm. If you can help message me."
A Police Scotland spokeswoman told us: “Officers are making enquiries following a bogus caller incident in Livingstone Drive, which occurred on Thursday, 21 October, 2021.
“Two men offering gardening work are understood to have stolen a four figure sum of cash from a 74-year-old female resident."
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101.
Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
