The family and friends of tragic Jennie Poole will today bid a final farewell to the stabbing victim.
The health care worker – who died from her injuries – will be buried at Glasnevin Cemetery following Funeral Mass in Finglas, Dublin.
While only 25 people can attend because of Covid restrictions, hundreds more are expected to line the funeral route, including colleagues from the care home where she worked.
In her death notice Jennie, 24, is described as “a wonderful and doting mother” and “a mother, daughter, sister, friend and a devoted carer of the elderly in the heart of the community of Finglas” who was tragically killed “in the summer of her life”.
The young mother of two was stabbed at her apartment on April 17.
Her four-year-old son was in the home at the time and is believed to have witnessed the incident.
Gardai were called to the scene by neighbours who heard screams coming from the apartment and then saw a man jump from her balcony as he fled the scene.
Ms Poole’s boyfriend Gavin Murphy, 29, originally from Tallaght in Dublin, but who has an address in Ballymun on the northside of the city, has been charged with her murder.
