Family and friends gather for funeral of 'forever young' Kasey Anderson

Family and friends gathered for the funeral of a man who died after being stabbed.

Kasey Anderson was stabbed in the leg and chest on Carr Lane East in Croxteth on Saturday, March 11. He spent two weeks in hospital in a critical condition but died on Friday, March 31.

His funeral took place at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Church in Croxteth at 1.30pm today (May 10). A horse-drawn carriage led Kasey's coffin to the church, while a hearse carried the message "Gone Fishing".

The coffin has a fishing theme, while camouflage also featured. The horse-drawn carriage also included floral tributes and a picture of Kasey.

Additionally, an area of tributes was left on Thorne Road in Croxteth. A sign said "In loving memory of Kasey Anderson" and added: "Fly high brother, forever young, RIP xxx".

Flowers, photographs, candles and messages were also left as people paid tribute to Kasey.

The funeral was followed by a committal at Greenacres. The funeral directors said: "Kasey will be greatly missed and fondly remembered always by all his family and friends. To know Kasey was to love him."

Kasey's family issued a tribute to the 24-year-old.

They said: "We will miss our crazy Kasey. He was a huge part of everyone’s lives. Every single person who met him has a story to tell. He always made everyone laugh and left a mark on everyone he met.

"Our hearts will be broken forever. He did not deserve a second of this. He will be missed by everyone in the community. The loss of Kasey has brought everyone down to their knees.

Natalie Bennett, 46, of Carr Lane East, was charged with the murder of Kasey Anderson on Tuesday, May 9, and was remanded in custody before appearing in front of a bench of Magistrates at Merseyside Domestic Violence Remand Court today.

Wearing a Nike air jumper with a gold emblem, Bennett spoke only to confirm her name and date of birth, before being remanded back into custody. She was previously arrested and charged with section 18 wounding in relation to this incident.
