Families spot Universal Orlando actor making 'racist gesture' next to children

A Universal Orlando entertainer has been caught for the second time appearing to make a white supremacist gesture while posing for pictures with children.

A Hispanic family, from Florida, were outraged when they spotted the worker, who was dressed as an animated film character, pulling the 'OK' sign next to their daughter.

They only realised what had happened when they saw an article about another case of an employee dressed as the Despicable Me villain Felonious Gru making the gesture.

The parents went to the theme park in February last year, while the other family visited in March.

The Zingers only spotted 'Gru' making the gesture alongside their two biracial children when looking at pictures from their trip, months after returning home.

Dad Richard Zinger told USA Today: “It’s more than the ‘OK’ sign. A lot of people don’t understand what that sign means.”

Mum Tiffiney added: "We just wanted to take them to see the minions... do something special for our family and this person ruined that special warm feeling."

Universal Orlando fired the employee and apologised for the incident.

An employee at the theme park was just recently caught making the gesture on another occasion (McLuskey, McDonald & Hughes, P.A.)

A spokesman told the newspaper: "We never want our guests to experience what this family did. This is not acceptable and we are sorry – and we are taking steps to make sure nothing like this happens again.

"We can’t discuss specifics about this incident, but we can confirm that the actor no longer works here."

It is not known whether it was the same person involved in the two incidents or whether they were different employees, The Sun reports.

A lawyer representing both families said Universal was refusing to tell them who the 'Gru' actor was.
