Families are loving this easy way to work out how much holiday money you need

When it comes to going on holiday, it's all about money.

Once you've saved up enough to go there, you've then got to think about how much you'll need to take with you.

Even if you go all inclusive there are still added costs, like day trips, to consider.

That's why one holiday company has come up with a nifty tool to help you find out how much you'll need.

And while it's unlikely to be exact, families say it's good to have a rough estimate of how much they're likely to be spending.

The TUI ' budget calculator ' works by asking travellers various questions about their trip - like where they're going, how many people are travelling and how long they're going for.

It then gets a bit more specific asking what kind of holiday it is - family, luxury, arts and culture, or adventure.

And you then select either all inclusive, half board, bed and breakfast, or self catering.

It even goes as far as asking how many meals and drinks you're likely to be paying for a day and how many extra activities you are planning.

Finally, it calculates the recommended amount to take with you.

One mum told the M.E.N's Manchester Family that she was impressed by its accuracy.

She said: "We used it recently before going away for a fortnight to Spain all inclusive and the amount it gave us was pretty much bob on."

A spokesman for TUI said: "We created this tool as part of the travel experience to assist customers during the pre-booking journey.

"There are a lot of searches in Google around how much to take on holiday, so based on our experience and knowledge of the holiday industry, we built this to answer some of those questions frequently asked and to assist the customer."

She said it's becoming more popular as we head towards peak holiday season, adding: "The number of visitors continues to grow as the page increases in visibility and more people find it useful and relevant to their holiday booking journey."
