Falls Road robbery investigated by police

A man armed with a knife robbed a West Belfast takeaway early on Wednesday morning.

The man entered the shop on the Falls Road after 1.30am, covering his face with a Liverpool FC scarf, and demanded money from a staff member.

He made off with cash and a set of car keys, leaving the staff member shaken.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Stephen Gardiner said: "I want to appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw the suspect, who is described as having worn a Liverpool football scarf over his face and was dressed in black, to get in touch.

"This was a nasty incident which has left the victim badly shaken.

"Enquiries are under way, and I am appealing to anyone with information about this incident to call 101, quoting reference number 62 of 12/02/20, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
