A fallen tree that blocked the Bog Road in Ballymena has now been cleared and the road reopened.
The incident occurred roughly half way along the road, according to Traffic Watch NI. Motorists were urged to "avoid the area" until the tree was removed by responding crews.
Traffic NI said it feared that the clear-up may be delayed until daybreak due to safety concerns but around 1:30am – about an hour after the incident was first reported – it issued an update stating: "Ballymena - The fallen tree on the Bog road in Ballymena has now been removed and the road has been reopened (01:36)."

In an earlier tweet sent at 12:05am, the traffic agency wrote:
"#Ballymena - A tree has fallen and blocked the Bog road in Ballymena (roughly half way along the road) Road users should avoid the area until we can have this cleared - this may take until daylight hours given safety concerns."
