Dollar Flight Club noted that the average fare to London dipped from $540 in June and July to $415 (a 23% drop) in September and October, with Bangkok also falling from $500 to $356 (a 29% fall). Other notable destinations showed fall booking affordability as well, including:

  • Puerto Vallarta, Mexico ($375).

  • Athens, Greece ($480).
  • Tokyo, Japan ($580).
  • Dublin, Ireland ($840).
  • Lisbon, Portugal ($850).
  • Reykjavic, Iceland ($862).

And as The U.S. Sun detailed, citing Skyscanner, several other flights throughout the month of September afford exceptional value for budget-minded vacationers. All flight prices below are for one-way fares.

  • New York to Barcelona for $140.
  • Orlando to San Jose, Costa Rica, for $45.
  • Los Angeles to Sydney, Australia, for just over $300.
  • Chicago to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for $257.

The publication quoted Kayak’s CEO Steve Hafner as saying, “Now through the rest of summer is a great time to score a deal on international flights, with prices down over $100 on average,” before pivoting to mention that the least expensive flights were most often scheduled for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
