Falkirk thug who took knife to ex's home and chucked brick through her window faces jail

A man who hurled a brick through his ex's bedroom window after they split up was today warned he could face jail.

Daniel Jack, 29, tucked a knife into the waistband of his trousers before going round to the home of his former partner in Denny, Stirlingshire.

Prosecutor Michael Maguire said he was then seen throwing the brick through her first floor window.

Witnesses described him as "heavily intoxicated".

Jack's ex, Alison Meek, wasn't home at the time of the incident at around 11.30am on May 15 2020, but was met by police when she returned home later and let them in.

Mr Maguire said: "They found the bedroom window was smashed and there was a brick lying on the bedroom floor.

"Ms Meek confirmed this was new damage, and the brick was foreign to the location."

At Falkirk Sheriff Court today heard, Jack, of Denny, appearing by video link from Low Moss Prison, where he was on remand, pleaded guilty on indictment to possession of the knife and statutory breach of the peace.

The incident occurred in Broadside Place, Denny.

Solicitor Gordon Addison, defending, said the couple had recently separated, and Ms Meek had left belongings at his flat.

Mr Addison said: "He was going round to encourage her to collect them."

Sheriff Keith O'Mahony deferred sentence for reports until March 17th and continued Jack's remand.

He warned him to expect a jail term.

He said: "Be in no doubt that it seems to me the most likely disposal is a custodial one."
