A man who pelted his girlfriend and her 13-year-old sister with chicken nuggets has dodged jail.
Lewis Green, 23, threw the breadcrumb-coated chunks after he and his partner returned home about 9pm, having been out drinking.
Prosecutor Fiona Griffin said: "He went to sleep and woke up about an hour later and began making abuse comments to her and her sister and throwing chicken nuggets."
One bite-sized poultry piece hit his partner's head, and the other collided with her sister's leg.
Green then began to throw a baby's cot around.
Falkirk Sheriff Court heard there was no baby in the cot at the time, but the 13-year-old girl found his actions "extremely frightening".
He told his partner: "I wish you were dead. Where are your slaggy wee pals now? I hope you choke."
Police arrived about 11.15 pm to find Green's partner "visibly distressed" and her teenage sister hiding in a bedroom, "very scared".
Green was told he was being arrested, and he deliberately pushed one cop into a wall, resulting in the officer cutting his elbow.
He told the officer he was "a f****** p***" and while being escorted to a police van he shouted, "F***** b*******".
Miss Griffin said: "On the way to Falkirk police custody suite, he began singing sectarian football songs and shouting 'pig scum speccy b******', and that he hoped the officers died."
Green, of Larbert, Stirlingshire, admitted police assault; threatening behaviour aggravated by homophobic and religious prejudice; and domestically-aggravated statutory breach of the peace.
The incident occurred at a flat in the town on May 7th (2021).
Solicitor-advocate Martin Morrow, defending, said: "On any view his behaviour on the night in question was unacceptable.
"This was entirely not the way to proceed. He says that when he drinks, things go wrong - he changes personality."
Sheriff Craig Harris sentenced Green to 145 hours of unpaid work, and placed him under social work supervision for 145 hours.
He told him: "This was a serious offence. You're on the cusp of going to prison. A police officer was injured and you terrified the child who was present."
