A Falkirk swimming pool which was closed this morning has been re-opened after an unexpected chemical delivery.
The pool at the Mariner Centre was due be shut for a few days due to a shortage of a chemical needed to ensure water quality.
The Falkirk Community Trust had previously said that they hoped it would be re-opened for public use towards the end of the week.
They wrote online: "We are sorry to inform our customers that the leisure pool at the Mariner Centre will be closed for a few days; this is due to a UK-wide shortage of a specific chemical needed in swimming pools to ensure the pool water quality.
"Our supplier is doing everything they can and as quickly as they can to source this chemical. We hope that we will be able to reopen towards the end of this week.
"Thank you for your patience as we attempt to resolve this supply issue that appears to affect other areas of life in general."
However, following an unexpected delivery of the chemical in question, they confirmed that the pool would be open from 1pm.
The Falkirk Community Trust said: "Following our update earlier today advising that the Mariner Centre swimming pool is temporarily closed, we are now pleased to confirm that we have taken delivery of the required chemicals unexpectedly and that the pool will reopen today from 1pm onwards.
"We are sorry for any inconvenience this temporary closure may have caused and look forward to welcoming customers after this time."
