Falkirk school receives bomb threat sparking frantic police search

A bomb threat was sent to a Falkirk school today sparking a frantic search by police .

Emergency services were called to St Mungo’s High School after the headteacher alerted officers to a 'threatening email' at around 10.45am on Monday morning.

Police carried out searches on the school but were unable to find anything linked to the threat.

A spokesperson for Falkirk Council said: “There were no pupils in school today as this was an in-service day.”

In a statement, a spokesperson for Police Scotland added: "Initial enquiries were carried out, the threat is not believed to be credible and advice was given to staff."
