Falkirk residents warned over COVID Passport text scam

Police in Falkirk have issued a warning to residents about a text message scam that appears to be from the NHS offering people a coronavirus vaccination passport.

Officers say that the text message states that they are aware that you have not applied for a COVID pass yet.

It then asks you to click on the link and to fill in you bank details.

Taking to Facebook, Forth Valley Police said: "There are text messages being received that are themed around a NHS COVID pass.

"The text message appears to come from the National Health Service (NHS) and states that they are aware that you have not applied for a COVID pass and asks you to click on the link.

"This text scam is similar to an email scams in July and August whereby the link sends you to a separate site and any details that are added could be used for fraud purposes.

"Please stay safe and don't click on any links unless they are from a trusted source."
