Falkirk musician David Bateman first to play in town following return of live music

Falkirk musician David Bateman is set to become the first to play in the town following the return of live music.

David will be playing at The Red Hoose on Lairox Terrace in Denny at 9pm on Friday August 27.

The singer grew up listening to traditional music during family parties and his family say he could hold a tune when he was barely three-years-old.

As he grew older, he became more interested in older bands like The Beatles, Slade, The Jam and The Move who he wanted to emulate.

David then learned to play on an acoustic guitar with his dad teaching him the basics when he was 11 after which he became self-taught.

Since then, the musician has played various different venues across the country and released his debut single in October 2007.

Under the current coronavirus regulations, under 2,000 people can attend events indoors but face coverings remain mandatory, subject to exemptions.

Anyone who wants to book seats is encouraged to do so as soon as possible by calling 01324 822 365. More information is available here.
