Former Ross County boss Stuart Kettlewell is in the mix for the Falkirk job - but Steven Pressley has ruled himself out of making a return to the Bairns.
Record Sport understands Kettlewell - who led the Staggies to the Championship title two years ago - would be interested in replacing sacked David McCracken and Lee Miller.
The 36-year-old was axed by County in December but is keen on a quickfire return to management and is among a list of early contenders for the Falkirk job including East Fife boss Darren Young and Martin Canning among others.
The Bairns are in no rush to appoint though with the position expected to draw considerable interest. Sporting director Gary Holt has taken charge on an interim basis and is expected to remain in the dugout until the end of the season while also leading the process to find the next boss.
The League One club sacked McCracken and Miller on Wednesday following the 1-0 defeat to Peterhead 24 hours earlier that saw them toppled from top spot.
Pressley meanwhile won’t be throwing his hat in the ring.
The former Scotland international had three years at the helm between 2010 and 2013 and led the Bairns to a Challenge Cup triumph before moving on to Coventry City.
But he’s been out of work since being being sacked by Carlisle United in November 2019.

Pressley told Record Sport he was looking to take a “different path” in a bid to get back into top level management and that the Falkirk job comes at the wrong time.
Falkirk sit two points off Partick Thistle in top spot with four games left and the wheels are in danger of coming off their promotion charge.
They have picked up just one win in their last four leading to McCracken and Miller being axed.
