Falkirk Distillery donates 40th cask of limited edition whisky to mark 40th year of hospice

The founder of Falkirk Distillery has donated the 40th cask of a limited edition whisky to mark the 40th year of a Falkirk hospice.

George Stewart presented Strathcarron Hospice in Denny with the Cadgers Whisky being used as a raffle prize by the care facility.

The money raised will be used to generate vital funds for the hospice which has been supporting locals for the past four decades.

A Strathcarron Hospice spokesperson said: "As an independent charity, we need to raise £14,315 every day to keep our services running.

"We are here for the community, because of the community and it is a privilege for us to care for the people you love when they need us most.

"Our heartfelt thanks to the Founder, George Stewart of Falkirk Distillery for this incredible gesture."

There are just 1,000 tickets available at £20 each for the chance to win the single malt spirit distilled by the Polmont based company.

Tickets are available until 11.45pm on Sunday December 19 with the draw due to take place on Wednesday December 22.
