Falkirk Council want 'Winter Warden' volunteers to tackle snowy weather

Falkirk Council are looking for 'Winter Warden' volunteers to clear snow from footways and footpaths in their spare time.

Members of local communities are being encouraged to apply as part of the council's Winter Service Plan for 2020-2021.

Roles including team leader, deputy team leader and team member are all available.

A Falkirk Council spokesperson said: "If you are already clearing snow or dealing with frozen pavements etc this could be a good way of getting equipment, clothing and insurance for the work that you are already carrying out.

"If you live in a street that is tucked away and not covered by the Councils clearing this could be a good opportunity to get your area cleared."

Those who are interested in getting involved, can email: winterwardenscheme@falkirk.gov.uk.

Alternatively, those interested in applying, can mail Roads and Grounds Services, Earls Road, Grangemouth FK3 8XD.
