Falkirk cops issue warning to drivers after spate of vehicle thefts

Drivers across Falkirk are being urged to be extra vigilant after a spate of vehicle thefts in Forth Valley.

Car thefts have been reported in Larbert, Stenhousemuir and Banknock in recent weeks.

Officers say if you have a garage you should use it, and don't leave valuables likes mobiles and laptops in vehicles.

They're also urging people to use a steering lock or anti-theft device.

Below are some tips issued by Police Scotland as to how you can keep your vehicle safe from thieves:

  • If you've got a garage, use it

  • Don't leave items on show in your car (phone, wallet etc)

  • Keys/Ignition fobs should be kept out of sight & reach in your home

  • Use a steering lock or anti-theft device

  • Fit a vehicle tracker

Anyone with information about recent thefts is being urged to contact police on 101.
