Falkirk area drivers warned over 'possible fuel spill' on roads

Motorists are being urged to be extra careful when driving around the Falkirk area following reports of a possible fuel spill.

A number of people have take to social media to report skidding on Inchyra Road in Grangenouth, the M9 onslip at J4 and J5 and the A88 Bellsdyke Road in Larbert.

Drivers have described losing control and sliding onto the other side of the road.

The cause is not known at this stage.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police are currently dealing with a possible fuel spillage on the road from North Broomage Roundabout along the length of Bellsdyke Road.

"The road has now been treated by Falkirk Council but please drive with extra care in this area."

We have contacted Falkirk Council and BEAR Scotland for comment.
