Falkirk and Bo'ness residents refused coronavirus tests due to kit shortage

A shortage of coronavirus tests mean that some people in Falkirk and Bo'ness are being refused one.

It's reported a number of people in both areas have been turned away or had appointments cancelled today because of the supply issue.

The nearest site available to the district to carry out tests today is Edinburgh Airport.

A Scottish Government spokesperson has confirmed to Falkirk Live that there is an issue with supplies and that many areas across the UK are affected.

One resident said her son was due to go for a test at the site in Bainsford and was turned away without notice.

She said: "We got there and he was turned away, no warning or nothing.

"They have told him to go to Edinburgh Airport, but he's too unwell to travel that far."

"My son's girlfriend was booked in at 3pm and got an email saying not to go for the test."

We're told the issue is being worked on urgently.
