Falcons WR Julio Jones on Calvin Ridley: ‘He’s not a guy to play with’

When the Falcons drafted Calvin Ridley in the first round back in 2018, they instantly added another play-maker to an offense that already included Julio Jones, Mohamed Sanu and Austin Hooper.

Ridley led the team with 10 touchdown catches last season, but according to Jones, he’s just scratching the surface. In a piece by Falcons reporter Kelsey Conway, Jones gushed about the second-year receiver’s potential.

“With Cal, they keep playing with him,” Jones said. “But he’s not a guy to play with. He can make those plays. He can make explosive plays down the field. He can do it all. He’s a complete player, a great wideout and he’s going to be a great wideout in this league for a long time.”

Jones and Ridley have been a dynamic duo in 2019. Through three games, the two have a combined 32 catches for 440 yards and six touchdowns.

The offense has yet to really click, however, as the the Falcons’ ground attack is averaging just 74.3 yards per game.

Atlanta plays host to the Tennessee Titans in Week 4 as both teams look to avoid a 1-3 start.
