Falcons WR Julio Jones: ‘Coach Quinn is not out there on the field’

Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones continues to speak up for his head coach. After defending Dan Quinn following the team’s Week 7 loss, he was asked to clarify his comments on Thursday.

Jones was unwavering in his support, saying it’s the players on the field, not Quinn letting the team down.

Jones isn’t normally one to speak out, but the veteran knows his voice is one that will resonate in the locker room.

Watch Jones explain why he felt the need to say something instead of staying quiet, as tweeted out by Falcons reporter Kelsey Conway below:

Atlanta may not have quarterback Matt Ryan during Sunday’s game against the Seahawks and even if backup Matt Schaub plays well, it’ll take a collective team effort for the Falcons to have any kind of chance.

We shall see how the players respond in Week 8 when Quinn goes up against Pete Carroll, his former mentor.
