Falcons worked out LB Shane Ray, two others on Tuesday

With the Falcons reportedly shopping defensive end Vic Beasley, the team brought in three edge defenders on Tuesday.

According to NFL insider Adam Caplan, Atlanta hosted Shane Ray, Nate Orchard and Quinton Bell for workouts.

Ray is a former Broncos first-round pick who had his best season in 2016 — finishing with eight sacks — but like Beasley, hasn’t done much since.

Orchard was drafted in the second round back in 2015 and bounced around the league after a failed stint with the Browns. Bell was a 2019 seventh-round pick of the Raiders that has yet to catch on.

It would make sense to add one of these players if the Falcons are in fact able to move on from Beasley. However, it sounds as if they haven’t been able to find a trade partner.

Atlanta is most likely just doing its due diligence in case a trade does happen.
