The Atlanta Falcons open up the 2019 NFL season on the road against the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday. After last season’s injury-riddled nightmare, it’s good to know that Atlanta is off to a good start health-wise. Here’s the first look at this week’s injury report, which includes just one player.
Offensive tackle Matt Gono, who has played well in the preseason, was limited with a back injury on Wednesday.
| Player | Injury | Wed | Thu | Fri | Status |
| OT Matt Gono | Back | Limited | DNP | ||
| WR Julio Jones | NFI | – | Limited | ||
Gono is competing for the starting right tackle position with Ty Sambrailo and first-round pick Kaleb McGary, who should eventually become the team’s long-term starter at the position.
Update:
Wide receiver Julio Jones has joined the injury report. He was limited in practice on Thursday but coach Dan Quinn says it was rest related.
Also, Gono was downgraded from limited to a non-participant, so there’s a decent chance we will see first-round pick Kaleb McGary starting at right tackle on Sunday against the Vikings.
