The Falcons have traded linebacker Duke Riley to the Eagles for safety Johnathan Cyprien and the teams swapped late-round 2020 draft picks, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Riley has been a scapegoat for Atlanta fans ever since he joined the team three years ago.

To put the Eagles/Falcons trade simply, the Eagles replaced LJ Fort with Duke Riley. The Falcons replaces Keanu Neal with Jonathan Cyprien.

Folks wondering why the Falcons took Cyprien over McDonald or Iloka must forget a salary cap exists. They can add Cyprien for Riley at a net positive to the cap. And a player in football shape. Not a bad move.
