Early Monday morning, the Falcons landscape was hit by a massive shock wave after Shannon Sharpe called Julio Jones on his personal cell phone during FS1’s Undisputed talk show.
During the call, Atlanta’s All-Pro wideout made it known that his intentions are not to play for the Falcons in 2021. Jones signed a three-year extension with the team in 2019, and is due $17.3 million in guaranteed money combined over the next two years.

Let's say Julio Jones did ask for a trade. That means:
1) Julio didn't publicly complain and damage trade prospects/undercut new regime
2) The Falcons took some heat for allowing possibility of trade, pointing to salary cap relief, not blaming Julio
