Falcons stay at No. 26 in TD Wire’s Week 6 Power Rankings

The Falcons suffered one of the most embarrassing losses of the season on Sunday, falling 53-32 to the Houston Texans. The more pressure on this team, the worse they play it seems after entering 2019 with expectations of being a contender in the NFC.

Last week, Touchdown Wire dropped the Falcons to No. 26 in its Week 5 power rankings. This week, despite another abysmal performance, Atlanta remained at 26.

Read some of what TD Wire’s Doug Farrar had to say after the Falcons’ Week 5 blowout loss in Houston.

In a 53-32 shellacking at the hands of the Texans on Sunday, Quinn’s defense let Deshaun Watson do whatever he wanted with little resistance or pressure, as Watson completed 28 of 33 passes for 426 yards, five touchdowns, no interceptions, and a perfect 158.3 passer rating. From week to week, it’s a two-way tie for last as the Falcons’ offense and defense contend as the team’s biggest problem.

As much as changes are needed, Atlanta will more than likely give head coach Dan Quinn the chance to finish out the season, Quinn’s taken this team to the playoffs twice, including a Super Bowl berth.

The Falcons may finally get a break next week when they take on the Arizona Cardinals (1-3-1).
