Falcons sign Georgia wideout… with a twist.

The Atlanta Falcons signed Georgia wide receiver Jayson Stanley as an undrafted free agent today, but with a bit of a caveat.

The former Creekside High (Fairburn, GA) product will begin his professional career close to home but as a cornerback. At 6-foot-2, 209 pounds, Stanley has the size professional teams are seeking and has the proven speed as well. He’s not afraid to mix it up, as Coach Smart commented several times on Stanley’s blocking ability.

He was also a leader on the Dawgs’ special teams, playing the key positions of the gunner on the punt team and headhunter on the kickoff team.

At Georgia, Stanley played in 37 games, including 13 games last season. He caught his first career TD pass, a 9-yarder, vs. Middle Tennessee State.
