Falcons rookie DL John Cominsky reflects on his journey before first real NFL game

Week 1 of the NFL season is an exciting day for football fans, but it means even more to those players who have worked their entire lives for this moment, scrapping and clawing their way to making an opening day roster. Falcons fourth-round pick John Cominsky is among those grateful to be wearing an NFL uniform.

This morning, he talked about the long road to making it on Twitter.

All those days I didn’t wanna go, but I did. Those mornings I didn’t wanna wake up, I did. Those days I really didn’t know why I was even up at 530am doing sprints, but I was there. The Dream is made today. It’s GAMEDAY on NFL Sunday!!!!!!! 😤

Cominsky’s story is one a lot of players can certainly relate to. After playing well in the preseason, he is set to play in Week 1 for Atlanta as a backup defensive lineman. Expect to see him lining up inside and out, the same as Jack Crawford.
