Falcons ranked as NFL’s ninth-best team of the past decade

The Falcons haven’t won a Super Bowl over the past decade, but they’ve been in the mix most years since Matt Ryan took over as quarterback in 2008.

Touchdown Wire released their rankings of all 32 teams over the past ten seasons, and Atlanta has a record of 83-66 since 2010. That was good for ninth-best, according Barry Werner.

The Falcons have made the playoffs five times, losing the Super Bowl to the Patriots in their lone appearance when they blew a 28-3 lead. They have won 10-plus games a handful of times and reached double-digit losses twice.

The Falcons are in the middle of a disappointing 2019 season, but for the majority of the past decade the team has been one of the most consistently competitive franchises in the NFL.

The Super Bowl 51 defeat leaves a bad taste in the mouths of the fans, however, Atlanta’s sustained success is a testament to both owner Arthur Blank and general manager Thomas Dimitroff.
