Falcons QB Matt Ryan had the NFL’s third-highest passer rating vs. pressure in 2018

Matt Ryan’s pass protection was a major factor in the Falcons’ 7-9 finish last season. Consistently pressured from his right side, Ryan wound up getting sacked 42 times, the second-most in his NFL career.

Despite all that pressure, Ryan stood firm and delivered yet another solid season. According to Pro Football Focus, Ryan had the third-highest passer rating in the league last year when under pressure. Only Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson posted better numbers.

Ryan ended the year with 4,924 total passing yards, averaging 8.1 yards per pass attempt. He also had a 5-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio and a 108.1 passer rating.
