Falcons place P Matt Bosher on injured reserve, re-sign Matt Wile

The Falcons will reportedly be without another starter when they take on the Houston Texans in Week 5. Punter Matt Bosher did not participate in Friday’s practice and will head to the injured-reserve list due to a groin injury.

Bosher has been nicked up all season. He practiced in full on Wednesday and Thursday, but apparently re-aggravated his injury.

To take Bosher’s place, the team re-signed punter Matt Wile and released John Wetzel to make room, per The Athletic’s Jason Butt.

Wile has already filled in for Bosher once this season — during the Falcons’ 27-24 loss to the Colts. He had one punt that went for 39 yards in that game.

Wile played in all 16 games for the Vikings last season, averaging 45.2 yards per punt on 72 attempts.
