Falcons pick Washington CB Jordan Miller at No. 172 overall

The Falcons went back to the cornerback well with the No. 172 overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. Atlanta has used the selection on Washington cornerback Jordan Miller.

A former track star, Miller is another long corner (6-foot-1, 181 pounds) who fits the prototype for what the Falcons want at the position.

For whatever it’s worth, he was more productive in college than the team’s fourth-round pick from Ohio State, Kendall Sheffield. Miller totaled six interceptions, 11 pass breakups and three forced fumbles for the Huskies.

Miller’s best pro comparison may be Ken Crawley of the Saints.

Cornerback depth was a big issue for Atlanta coming in, but now they should be set after using two mid-round picks at the position.
