Falcons pick Louisiana Monroe WR/KR Marcus Green at No. 203 overall

The Falcons may have just found their Marvin Hall replacement. Using the No. 203 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2019 NFL draft, Atlanta chose Louisiana Monroe wide receiver Marcus Green.

Green is a bit small for a pro receiver, checking in at 5-foot-8 and 191 pounds. However, he’s got wheels to make up for it.

In 48 career college games, Green caught 202 passes for 2,698 yards and 23 touchdowns. He was also a return specialist for Louisiana Monroe. Green fielded both kickoffs and punts. He scored four kickoff return touchdowns as a junior and one on a punt return last season.

Green projects as the last receiver on the roster. On offense, he’ll compete with last year’s sixth-round pick Russell Gage. On special teams, he’ll face off against Kenjon Barner and Justin Hardy for the returner roles.

The No. 203 pick was Atlanta’s last of the day. Unless the Falcons trade back in, they’re done for this class.
