According to a report by D. Orlando Ledbetter at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Falcons owner Arthur Blank has sold 10 percent of the franchise to three limited partners.
“Falcons owner Arthur Blank sold a 10 percent share of the team to two current limited partners and one new limited partner, a team spokesman confirmed.”
The price tag is reported to be $300 million, which means the franchise is valued at $3 billion. That’s a significant step up in value from when Blank brought the Falcons for in 2002 for $545 million.
According to Daniel Kaplan at the SportsBusiness Journal, the sale’s proceeds will go to Blank’s foundation.
