Falcons open as 4.5-point underdogs vs. the Texans

The Atlanta Falcons stumbled again in Week 4, losing 24-10 to the visiting Tennessee Titans and falling to 1-3 on the year.

Head coach Dan Quinn has taken a lot of heat, but the team still has twelve games to try and save its season. Atlanta will hit the road to take on the 2-2 Houston Texans this Sunday. BetMGM has the Falcons opening as 4.5-point underdogs for their Week 5 matchup.

The Texans are coming off of a loss to the Carolina Panthers. They technically lead the AFC South, but all four teams have the same 2-2 record.

Houston’s offense isn’t exactly a juggernaut this season. However, the team has a good ground game and quarterback who’s capable of making big plays. Running the ball, the Texans have two capable backs.

Carlos Hyde leads the team with 250 rushing yards, while backup Duke Johnson has 146 rushing yards — which is only 11 yards less than Devonta Freeman.

The Falcons have struggled with physical teams that like to run the ball. Defensively, the Texans are tenth in points allowed (19.5) but can be somewhat vulnerable through the air. They have allowed 259 passing yards per game.

Atlanta can throw the ball as good as anyone, however, it has the 27th-ranked rushing attack in the league. The team must find a way to win on Sunday or the season may very well slip away.
