Falcons OC Dirk Koetter: We can never complain about not having enough talent

Despite some improvement from the Falcons offense in 2018, head coach Dan Quinn decided to go in a different direction, firing Steve Sarkisian and bringing in former Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter as offensive coordinator. Koetter was OC before in Atlanta from 2012-2014.

While a lot of the offensive personnel has changed in the years since, he still has familiarity with the two most important pieces: quarterback Matt Ryan and wide receiver Julio Jones. Speaking with reporters at organized team activities, Koetter expressed confidence in the offense’s overall talent level, saying he’ll never have a right to complain about having enough of it.

It’s good to know the guy calling the plays understands just how high expectations should be for this experienced and elite group.

With this much talent at the skill positions, the Falcons should be a top-10 scoring team every year. If they fall short, the blame will rightly fall on Koetter just as it did with Sarkisian.
