Falcons kicker Matt Bryant thanks his supporters in classy tweet

After an unsuccessful attempt to move on from veteran kicker Matt Bryant in the offseason, the Falcons wised up and brought the 44-year-old back just in time for the regular season. When the news was reported on Saturday, fans rejoiced as most didn’t understand why Bryant was released in the first place.

All that matters now though is that Bryant is back in a Falcons uniform and he couldn’t be happier about it. Today he tweeted a heartfelt thank you to all of his supporters:

Thank you to everyone that has shown support to me over the years and especially the last few months. I must say there are some creative people out there! Now it’s time to get to work. Again, I’m full of gratitude and appreciation from all the support. #riseup

Money Matt Bryant is back and the Falcons are a better team because of it.

If Atlanta hadn’t gotten Bryant back on board, the team’s options at the position would have been limited. Both Blair Walsh and Giorgio Tavecchio struggled during the preseason and neither one could inspire enough confidence to earn a roster spot.
