Falcons Highlights: What Allen Bailey brings to Atlanta’s defense

The Falcons have signed former Chiefs DL Allen Bailey to a two-year, $10.5 million deal. He will help fill the void created by DE Steven Means’ season-ending Achilles injury as well as DT Michael Bennett’s broken ankle. Bailey played as a defensive end in Kansas City’s 3-4 scheme.

Last year Bailey posted career highs with six sacks and 10 QB hits, but he’s also known as a run stopper. Here are a few video highlights that show what he brings to the table.

Blasting Josh Rosen

Here, you’ll see Bailey bull rush Justin Pugh until he’s right in Josh Rosen’s face. Bailey makes contact a split second after Rosen’s release.

Stuffing Sony Michel

In this clip from the AFCCG, Bailey stuffs Patriots running back Sony Michel at the line of scrimmage after beating right tackle Marcus Cannon.

Chasing down Russell Wilson

Bailey moves very well for a player his size. Watch him chase down one of the league’s most nimble rushing quarterbacks in Russell Wilson.

Sacking Andy Dalton

Here Bailey brings down Andy Dalton for a big loss on what looks like a well-timed stunt.

Leaping, then stuffing Nick Chubb

This play shows more of Bailey’s athleticism. Watch him jump over a cut block attempt by Chris Hubbard then bring down Nick Chubb.

This is another fine signing by general manager Thomas Dimitroff.
