Falcons have split their 6 regular season meetings with the Jaguars

The Atlanta Falcons have just one game left before they can move past this nightmare of a preseason. The finale will be played on the road against the Jacksonville Jaguars, a team they will also play in Week 16 of the regular season.

Jacksonville joined the NFL back in 1995 and has since faced off with Falcons just six times — splitting the series 3-3.

The two teams have met just twice in the past 10 years since they play in different conferences. Atlanta won the most recent meeting, 23-17, back in 2015.

The Jaguars, like the Falcons, missed the playoffs last season despite entering the year as a potential Super Bowl contender. After a 5-11 finish in 2018, the Jags’ front office decided they’d seen enough of quarterback Blake Bortles and upgraded with former Eagles postseason stud Nick Foles.

Meanwhile, Atlanta’s front office decided to invest in the offensive line this offseason and is hoping to avoid the freakish amount of injuries that held them back last season.

Regardless of how ugly tonight’s game is, these are two talented teams who could be in the mix for a playoff spot in December.
